Abstract

To remain healthy, it is essential for human beings to consume adequate and nutritious food in proper quantity. In India, only 1.3 percent of the GDP is spent on healthcare services, which is quite low. India, which accounts for 17.5 percent of the world’s population, contributes nearly 20 percent of the global disease burden. The latitudinal extent of Rampur District lies between 28°25' to 29°10' North latitude and the longitudinal extent between 78°51' to 79°28' East longitude, covering an area of 2367 square kilometers. Situated in the Ramganga–Kosi plain, the region slopes from north-west to south-east. There are three major sources of nutrition in the district: Agriculture, Milk and dairy products, Meat and poultry.  The gross sown area is 338.88 thousand hectares, and the total livestock population is 4.46 lakh. Medical facilities are available in Rampur District for the prevention and treatment of health-related problems. However, malnutrition remains a major issue due to the lack of a balanced diet. It is necessary to eliminate faulty nutritional practices, and special attention must be given to cleanliness and hygiene.
