Abstract

Parents’ perspectives on science textbooks based on the National Curriculum Framework 2020 (NCF 2020) have been found to be largely positive and encouraging. Most parents believe that these new textbooks include interesting and practical activities that promote children’s curiosity, spirit of inquiry, and scientific thinking. They express satisfaction that the language of the textbooks is simple, clear, and age-appropriate, enabling students to understand the subject matter with ease. Additionally, the integration of local context, real-life examples, and illustrations is seen as effective in connecting children with science. However, some parents have expressed concerns regarding the overemphasis on digital resources and excessive exercises. Overall, the general perception is that the new framework represents a commendable effort towards strengthening the future of the education system.
